ABSTRACT

The Younger Manager Programme at Sundridge Park has been the basis for the development of a wide range of in-company programmes with a project-based learning element. The first of these which, arguably, had a scene setting or model influence, was with Volvo Concessionaires, at the time (1989), the main profit contributor to the parent company Lex Service Plc. Since then the relationship with Lex has been severed, the Company now being Volvo Car UK. It was a top priority to strengthen management education, training and development, particularly at junior and middle levels of management, which ultimately led to the tailored in-company version of the Younger Manager Programme. 1
