ABSTRACT

Children are born with an enormous potential in their brain. They also have skills and abilities over and above the basic instincts needed for survival. It is in the brain of a child that our culture’s future lies. Human beings have a long childhood to permit the brain to achieve its full potential before the person is required to make decisions and take action that determine humankind’s survival. The long childhood is not however just a waiting period; it is a period of fervent activity and development of all aspects of mind, body and spirit. It is not enough that children arrive at adulthood with a good education, they must also arrive with an intact spirit, an enthusiasm for life and a set of principles and values aimed at enhancing life on earth.
