ABSTRACT

To make a comment on an excellent paper is a rather difficult task. Its writer generally faces two different options to make fruitful remarks. The first possibility is to stay within the approach laid out by the paper and to try to discover logical fallacies or aspects that are missing. The second way to proceed is to take a step back and to pose the question of how the problem of social order - which underlies all theorizing in the social sciences - is exposed in the particular approach. Which of its aspects does the approach focus on and which remain unaddressed? In this comment, I have chosen the second option.
