ABSTRACT
The Republic of Slovenia lies between the Alps and the Mediterranean Sea bordering Italy, Croatia, Hungary and Austria. The country is relatively small, with approximately 2 million inhabitants. Nevertheless, it is regarded by many as the ‘treasure of the Mediterranean’, and it is a favourite tourist destination.
