The Government of Pakistan has also instituted some measures for safeguarding the interests of minorities. Fr. Joe Paul writes that the enlightened sections of Pakistanis such as artists, poets, journalists, lawyers, and doctors are involved in the struggle for eradicating extremism. Missionary schools and colleges are popular and in demand, yet some Muslims see them as agents of Westernisation preventing their wards from becoming loyal to Pakistan and Islam. Bishop Samuel Azariah, Bishop of Raiwind Diocese of the Church of Pakistan, admits that the Christians of Pakistan find themselves in a unique socio-political situation. The objectives of the National Commission for Inter-Religious Dialogue and Ecumenism are as follows: to work for peace and reconciliation in Pakistan. The Pakistan Association for Inter-Religious Dialogue is another body that has played an effective role in bring Christians and Muslims together in Pakistan. International organisations also help in supporting Christian-Muslim dialogue in Pakistan.
