ABSTRACT
Line 2 of the subway ends in the centre of Brooklyn, at the junction between Flatbush Avenue and Nostrand. While during the week students from Brooklyn College dominate the street, the weekend offers a different impression. The exits of the subway station lead directly to a site where both avenues meet smaller streets. Passengers emerging through the exits are welcomed by loud calls from shops and street sellers, each of them trying to shout louder than their neighbour to offer their product as the best and the cheapest.
