ABSTRACT
For a lot of people in the Western world, certainly in Europe and especially in Belgium, batik is an occupation that often starts as a hobby, becomes a craft for some of them and finally a full-time job as an art for a few of them. But people in general don't always appreciate the technique of batik as it is reevaluated and utilized as an art-medium in Belgium, although there seems to be a growing awareness.
