ABSTRACT
There are three important material sources of images of goddesses which have survived the ravages of time and destruction by the Spaniards. These are codices, stone sculptures and clay figurines. While we have only pre-Hispanic stone sculptures of the goddess, pictorial representations of Aztec goddesses can be found in both pre-Hispanic and colonial codices.
