ABSTRACT
ThehighimportanceofinteractiveIsocialskillsisclearlyreflectedbytheresults ofthejobrequirementstudiesofairlinepilotsandairtrafficcontrollers(see Goeters,Maschke&EiBfeldtinthisbook).Mostremarkablewasthat social/interactivecapabilitiesseemtobeasimportantforasuccessfulairlineand controllercareerasmentalandpsychomotor(pilots)respectivelysensoryfactors (controllers).Thiscanbeimpressivelyshownbylookingattherequirementsof outstandingimportance('topten')forpilotsandairtrafficcontrollers:Nolessthan six(pilots)respectivelyfive(controllers)ofthe'topten'canbeattributedtothe socialandinteractiverequirements.
