ABSTRACT

The writings of Honorius Augustodunensis (c.1070 to c.1140) were deeply influential in the medieval Latin West. The appended handlist of surviving manuscripts of them (which makes no claim to be complete) must remove all doubt about that. Somehow, Honorius had solved that great problem which confronts anyone who wishes his works to be read: he had divined the wishes of his public. He had assessed the needs of his audience and provided for them with enviable efficiency - perhaps even charm.
