ABSTRACT
On 23rd September 1999, Qantas' impeccable safety record very nearly came to an end. A Boeing 747-438 aircraft carrying 391 passengers and 19 crew overran Bangkok runway 21L in a rainstorm. Coming to rest on a golf course 200m from the end of the runway, the aircraft was substantially damaged. Thankfully, there were no injuries to either crew or passengers.
