ABSTRACT

In my family, when I was born, I know my family plays the drums very well, very neat. We do everything proper … In my family we want to use the drum to talk clear to greet the òrìṣà and to greet the King, and the people as well.. Maybe I can find some very old people at Ọ́yọ́ who can do this thing, but most people now at Ọ́yọ́ just know how to play the type of the dance drum, some new thing. This is the same in Ìbàdàn. In Ẹ̀rìn-Ọ̀ṣun, we do both. We don’t want to forget. Now if I don’t work this out it is going to be lost. Not many people know now.
