ABSTRACT
The following two studies deal with problems that are basic to descriptive and enumerative bibliography: how do we define printed books as “the same”? That is, how do we go about sorting through our libraries and determining that certain of the objects contained there can be abstracted from what could be called their post-production histories and classified as the same?
