ABSTRACT

The exercises in this chapter are for six or more participants, and most work well for up to 24. There are times during a lecture session when you notice participants' eyes beginning to glaze over. As trainers know only too well, if you have more than a minute or two's input left to give at this point, you are wasting your breath, and 'time out' should be called. Rather than just having a leg stretch or coffee or cigarette break, run a short exercise to start the blood moving again. The exercises in this section can be used as pure energizers. Most of them also introduce large group puzzle or problem solving and creativity. However, probably most importantly, they should be fun, and they are usually accompanied by much talking and laughter.
