ABSTRACT
Chemical changes may give rise to hunger and to the desire for sleep; also to sexual desire. But not to the desire to procreate or to have progeny. Nor to the aspiration which goes with this. Why was it a blessing to Abraham that his seed should never perish? There is some conception of what it is to be a creature of God – from everlasting to everlasting Thou art God; participating in what is eternal through begetting, not simply as one begotten (participation by the service of God).
