ABSTRACT
One of the keys to good writing is the ability to take your reader with you as you move along in your discussion. Transitions allow you to signal clearly when you are changing direction (in subject or emphasis) and how that change connects to the previ ous discussion. This chapter presents several devices that help produce continuity and show logical relationship when the discussion shifts. At the end is a Style Check remind ing you of the usefulness of standard logical transitions.
