ABSTRACT

You should recall the following four important concepts from your study of Sections 20 through 26:

1. The null hypothesis attributes differences to random sampling errors. In effect, it says that any differences observed in random samples (such as the difference between the means of an experimental and a control group) are only chance deviations from a true difference of zero in the population from which the samples were drawn.
