ABSTRACT

As you have seen, assessment is the proc-

ess of gathering information and using it

to make educational decisions. We hope

that educational decisions made by class-

room teachers are the best and most ap-

propriate for a given situation. However,

the quality of those decisions is only as good as the information that leads to

them. If the information gathered is inappropriate for a specific individual or

situation or if it is collected in a less-than-

precise manner, the decisions that follow

will logically be inaccurate.
