ABSTRACT
This chapter explores contemporary community activist organizations addressing social and legal justice of Black girls and girls of color. It describes how Black girls continue to be overpunished and policed in institutional settings. In particular, a case study on Girls for a Change, a local Richmond, Virginia organization and the spaces created by and for girls of color are explored.
