ABSTRACT
Simple linear regression is used when the objective is to predict scores on one variable using scores on another variable. 1 In regression, the variable that is being predicted is known as the dependent or criterion variable, and the variable that is used to predict scores is known as the independent or predictor variable. An example in which linear regression is used is presented next.
