ABSTRACT

Similar to other professions, project leaders need to take responsibility for continuing to train and adding to their skills. Project leadership development is about self-development. Chapter 11 is about how, as a project leader, you can take control of your own development by viewing your career as a project and applying the same principles as you would to any other project:

• define what you want to achieve and why; • set the direction you want to take; • identify and build those relationships that will help support your

ambitions and aspirations; • find the necessary resources to achieve it; • honestly review progress and modify the plan as your personal

circumstances or ambitions change.
