ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book analyzes the different contents of ethical systems. It deals with classical philosophy, starting with Aristotle and focuses on the difference between empiricist philosophy a la Hume and more ideological philosophy a la Kant. The book deals primarily with the philosophical and scientific developments of the 19th and 20th centuries and their importance to our comprehension of the world and of logic and mathematics. It discusses the implication of our philosophical discussions with respect to economics. The book also deals with the analytical conditions for scientific analysis in social sciences. It also discusses collective ethics and different forms of government/governance. The book explores the concept of money and financial aspects. It also discusses the necessities and choice possibilities of the consumer with respect to the concept of lexicographic preferences; with respect to production.
