ABSTRACT

The Utopia, the Faith, gives us hope even in the darkest times and there, in the Valley of Death, it is perhaps the only link to the living world which we have. Suppress the Faith, the Dream and life vanish. Faith is the basic sentiment underlying most scientific revolutions and innovations. Faith and ideals are the central forces driving humans for better or worse. If the Faith does not lead to action, it is void of any relevance for the empirical world and could be dismissed. If the Faith leads to action, the action must be logical with respect to the Faith. Utopias, however, although not a creation of political realism, may have a much more important role and a much more fantastic/dangerous role. They are dreams which may create life, hope, faith, action, cooperation.
