ABSTRACT
Four years ago a Surinamese-Hindustani woman died of a perforation of the stomach and peri toni tis. She had swallowed concentrated acetic acid. Her suicide was thought to be the result of years of spousal abuse. He is now on trial for wilfully driving her to her death. A special case, as never before in Dutch history someone was accused of inciting to commit suicide.
