ABSTRACT

W ORKING on commissions made me inde-pendent of the advertising agencies who seemed to be my employers. My real employers were the advertisers. This changed my business relations abruptly, because now I represented the client and regarded the agency merely as a tool to do the work of the advertiser. The agency also look·ed at me in a new way, as the client's representative, and our positions of employer and employee were in reality reversed.
