ABSTRACT
In this chapter we look at how the learning environment can be developed so that it provides the optimum conditions for talking and listening.
First, let me tell you about Derwentwater primary school in Ealing, which exemplified for me what we mean by ‘a place to talk’ more than any other setting I visited.
