ABSTRACT

The United Nations (UN) has always taken the lead in taking on climate change. In 2007, the 'Nobel Peace Prize' was awarded jointly to former United States vice-President Al Gore and the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change. In 2011, the UN climate change conference in Durban, South Africa, decided to adopt a universal legal agreement on climate change as soon as possible. International security law at the present stage of development is primarily found in the UN collective security system. The International Security evolved through the development of a collective security system, under UN. The UN conference on sustainable development is being organised in pursuance of General Assembly Resolution. The Kyoto Protocol is an amendment to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change that all countries reduce their emissions of carbon dioxide and find other greenhouse gases.
