ABSTRACT
Chapter 1: Third Theatre: A genealogy of the concept maps out the cultural material contexts that led to the emergence of Third Theatre as a community, in relation to Barba’s writing. Thus, a critical genealogy of Third Theatre as a shifting concept is articulated over the course of this chapter.
