ABSTRACT

Today, Pakistan is witnessing the process of liberalization and democratization in tune with the general process of the world. Now there are several issues such as social transformation, human rights, environmental issues, media autonomy and feminist issues emerging in Pakistan. We are seeing a new liberal class formation, so the agenda of the public is changing simultaneously. Pakistani media has been playing an important role in the political transitions since the judiciary crisis. In these circumstances it is very essential to explore the role of media agenda setting in Pakistan. It is the media that can convert the public issues into discussion, formulating its own agenda.
