ABSTRACT

The type of drainage system selected for a building will be determined by the local water authority's established sewer arrangements. The system is economical to install, but the processing costs at the sewage treatment plant are high. Drains may be connected independently to the public sewer so that each building owner is responsible for the maintenance of the drainage system for that building up to the property boundary. Various ground drainage systems are available; the type selected will depend on site conditions. The layout and spacing of subsoil drainage systems depends on the composition and drainage qualities of the subsoil and the disposition of buildings. The klargester settlement tank is a simple, reliable and cost-effective sewage disposal system manufactured from glass-reinforced plastics for location in a site-prepared excavation. Food waste, bottles, cans and cartons are disposed of at source, without the need to grind or crush the refuse.
