ABSTRACT

After priesthood and the death of his mother, the author settled in New England and married. They celebrated the birth of a daughter, Kathleen, the beginning of a fourth generation. Mary Anne accepted to be her niece’s godmother; later her parents brought Kat to meet her grandfather; for a short time three generations of the family were together again. In 1994, the couple adopted a five-year-old boy, Dimitri, from a Russian orphanage. It wasn’t until Harrington uncovered his grandmother’s early history that the impact of their son’s early life fully struck him.
