ABSTRACT

The emerging realization that the marginalized in society are in trouble. The marginalized of the world's societies are indeed experiencing new and unique challenges in this day and age of an excessive gap between rich and poor. The world has entered an era of all-encompassing, global communicative marginalization. Global communicative marginalization is a disconcerting situation in which everyone is caught in the silicon cage of media life. Social media, in some respects, has stimulated a rush to interpret the problems of the world as political openings. To be sure, it has also become well known that if social media is central in political communication today its function is ambiguous. One can identify among those using social media for political purposes people from all classes and political stripes. Those who would present a picture of inequality as a continuation of past forms fail to recognize the particularities of today's conformist responses to it.
