ABSTRACT

The author's orientation day wrapped up quickly that first day with the Learning Community. Being a part of the Learning Community called CSI, students were always looking to make connections between everything they learn. It was something that every single one of the professors would talk about at seemingly every lecture. Even Professor Marren would talk about it, and his class was a bigger lecture size class, who allowed other students in besides just those in the Learning Community. The 'field trips' we would take were another fantastic feature of this community. The first trip the author took was in the early weeks of school, known at SUNY Buffalo State as the "Week of Welcome". Another one of her trips was to the Frank Lloyd Wright house, more specifically the Graycliff house. With all the trips she went on, it slowly brought everything she learned about together.
