ABSTRACT

After the grounding mindfulness and reviewing work on the plan for healing the past, the next section, which focuses on relationships with others, is introduced by looking at some of the common vicious circles to do with relationships that crop up in peoples' diagrams, as follows. This chapter discusses the next four sessions: Session 9: Getting the balance right; Session 10: Understanding the other person and deepening relationships; Session 11: Managing the different parts of you; and Session 12: Bringing it together and keeping it up. The chapter summarizes what has been covered over the eleven weeks of the programme. The repeat of a mindfulness that has been particularly impactful in promoting change can usefully be brought in here. This session can be flexible and respond to the needs of the group. The programme, properly applied, can be useful for weaning off those who have become dependent on continuous therapy.
