ABSTRACT

An important first step is to understand how school leaders are communicating at the moment. School leaders are likely to spend up to 80 per cent of their day either listening, speaking or communicating in some way, self-awareness can be very valuable and have a big impact on how well they do their job. It requires school leaders to listen deeply with an open mind. School leaders should also seek and listen to feedback from others on a regular basis about how they are communicating. It is important to become more self-aware, and school leaders have accomplished that. Going through and answering these questions should have given them a better idea of where they are doing well and where they have areas for improvement. The questions are designed to ask school leaders about areas that are key communication pain points and opportunities.
