ABSTRACT

While the precise details might vary, an account such as this one could have been written about a day in the life of any of millions of women in the United States. The subject here, however, is a day in the life of U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (DArkansas). We learn in this account from the New York Tzmes not only about Senator Lincoln, but also about Patty Murray (D-Washington), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), and Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana), who have in common the fact that they are senators and mothers.
