ABSTRACT

The chapters in this section of the book explore five distinct directions for public media. Though each author explores a specific pathway for serving a variety of publics through electronic means, one common thread runs throughout: in a highly competitive market environment, sustaining a space and infrastructure for noncommercial public interest media is a daunting task.
