ABSTRACT

This chapter provides an overview of the barriers of space and time in teaching and learning, and the opportunities and challenges associated with opening up education towards fostering the crossings between digital and physical as well as formal and informal learning contexts. The insights on the value of hybridity in education are discussed with an emphasis on the context of hybridity through play and games. The discussions draw from the growing research into pervasive gaming and game-making for facilitating experiential learning.
