ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses further exploration of the role of game science in hybrid learning spaces, drawing perspectives from existing and ongoing development from the pedagogical, technological, and methodological perspectives. As we transition towards a new era of globalisation associated with the challenges and opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, education has to consider attitudes, competences, and capabilities that will equip individuals to be creative, empathic, responsible, and adaptable towards innovative and resilient economies and societies. As the world is getting more connected, we have to take into account intentional experiences with considerations of emerging free play that will inform the configurations of pedagogy, technology, and methodology for facilitating more adaptive, personalised, and meaningful teaching and learning.
