ABSTRACT

The Constitution of Liberty is one of the great books of our time, profound in analysis, ample in scholarship, noble in spirit. It is masterly in all its parts. So complete a study of its subject could be attempted by few men in our world, and fewer still would be likely to match the success which Professor Hayek achieves. All this ought to be said by way of preamble, whichever section of the book is submitted to examination.
