ABSTRACT
TTie climate is less humid than that of the coastal regional, but there is enough rain to support dense evergreen tropical rain-forest, which has however now disappeared in many areas. There is still a certain amount of forest designated technically ‘high bush', in which trees are 12 or more years old and over 25 feet high, but most of the vegetation is ‘low bush* or ‘orchard bush*. Soils are red laterite or light loam of several varieties.
