ABSTRACT

Recovery from BED is on a continuum. For some, it means a virtual cessation of binge behaviors; for others it means an overall lessening in severity and duration of binge episodes, with recurrences in times of significant stress. Looking at BED through a strengths-based lens, we explore how acceptance of imperfection in recovery, along with building compassionate community and incorporation of social justice and advocacy efforts, build resiliency and the ability to course correct instead of relapse.
