ABSTRACT

"Reciprocal" means a mutual experience. In the perfect example, two persons dream the same night, and each is conscious of the other in the precise setting and action of the dream. For example, one person dreams of being at the bedside of a relative who is ill. That same night the sick person sees in his dream that person and shares with him or her the identical dialog and actions. That is, two or more people meet in their dreams on the same night and enact a scene together. The reciprocal dream is a rare type and therefore particularly interesting. But often the two types blend; some concurrent dreams take on reciprocal features. Perhaps the true explanation for clairvoyant, concurrent, and especially for reciprocal dreams may some day be found to be closely related to this strange phenomenon, whatever its real nature may be.
