ABSTRACT
Gente means ‘people’ and it may also correspond to pessoas. It takes a verb in the third-person singular:
Aonde vai aquela gente toda?
Where are all those people going?
O café estava cheio de gente .
The café was full of people.
A gente do Porto é muito simpática.
The people of Oporto are very nice.
