ABSTRACT

Advertising is what makes this wealth of content possible. Advertising is a type of communication that attempts to persuade individuals to take some form of action toward a product, idea or service. Internet advertising focuses on keyword search behaviors, rather than demographics. American culture is a consumer culture, and commercial advertising is seen as one of the major influences that contribute to its formation. Political advertising has always been a vital aspect of American politics, but presidential campaign expenditures on advertising have now reached astronomical levels. In the United States, the roots of modern public relations can be traced back to the time of the American Revolution. Public relations professionals in large part realize the necessity of honest and fair advocacy. Professionals in the field of financial public relations are able to accurately and persuasively communicate events in the business world to other institutions as well as to consumers.
