ABSTRACT

Technology plays a key role in the prevention, detection, investigation, and prosecution of crime. Employees and student interns who are well versed in technological advances through coursework in computer forensics and network protections are highly valued by their organizations. It goes without saying that those interns who bring technical skills to the internship setting or who can develop these skills during their internship become attractive candidates for openings in a wide variety of organizations. There are many new and exciting career areas in criminal justice and the private sector. Many organizations provide extensive training to individuals who show an interest and capability in technological areas. Therefore, it is imperative that students be exposed to as much of this technology as possible during their internship.
