ABSTRACT

Correlative nanoscopy is a new term coined from microscopy methods which correlate two or more dierent techniques that can visualize and study nanometerscale details of the sample. A super-resolution uorescence microscope combined with an atomic force microscope (AFM) is an example. ese dierent techniques give dierent data sets from a sample, dening new functionalities of working and opening new windows for studying the sample. Stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy AFM and stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM) AFM are two additions in to this group and they have proven to be very useful in its unique way of identifying species from an AFM image. ese combinations open up new functional modalities like nanomanipulation, fast targeting, and so on. ese congurations are discussed and detailed in this chapter.
