ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the authors aim to understand the principles and fundamentals of learning and teaching as a way to develop best practices for education and training. They develop the best Lean theory of education and training that will lead to a learning organization. The authors examine the various options and strategies available for creating a learning organization. They deal with an introduction to the fundamentals of a Lean theory of education and training. The overall expectation for an organization is that the concept of Leader as Teacher becomes an integrated part of an overall Lean training system. Lean training methods work because they are based on the good fundamental application of andragogy. Every organization has a culture whether the culture was intentionally created or simply grew organically from the habits and norms of its leaders. In the organization where a high premium is placed on learning, a culture of continuous improvement will emerge.
