ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the importance of self-reliance and its connection to the Harada method. The history of the method goes back to a dedicated man named Takashi Harada. Harada had a vision that he could help coach the high school sports teams at Osaka’s lowest performing school become world-class. One of the main focal points in Japan today is for workers to become masters in some discipline. A lot of the repetitive work in factories has gone to Mexico, China, and other Asian countries, while many workers in America who lack developed skills are unable to find gainful employment. The Harada method is considered by some as the best method to develop people within their organizations to their maximum by becoming self-reliant through self-realization and development. Everyone prepared for the big event, using the commonly prepared Harada goal form to anticipate potential and expected problems.
