ABSTRACT

In many ways this book is probably unique insofar as it is written to offer the reader an opportunity to experience and to appreciate some of the diverse and challenging issues that can arise when working with a person who has had, and is struggling with, a drug problem. It is composed almost totally of dialogue between a fictitious client (Dan) and his counsellor (Jeannie), and between the counsellor and her supervisor (Max). Within the dialogue are woven the reflective thoughts and feelings of the client, the counsellor and the supervisor.
